We the People.
That used to mean so much more than it does today.
The concept of unity in America once carried profound significance, far greater than it does now. In my lifetime, the divide between the left and right has never been wider, with both sides wielding lies to vilify and intimidate each other. This polarization is fueled by government and media narratives.
The real aim of those “serving” in government is not to fight for the people, like so many of them claim. It is to control the people and protect the establishment. This creates an opportunity to line their pockets and create an illegitimate legacy. One propped up and validated by media lapdogs and then regurgitated and amplified by useful idiots on social media.
We the People, is all people. All races. All religions, all sexual orientations. All heights, all weights, all capabilities. Every American is part of We the People. The Constitution applies to all citizens. We would be wise to remember that and teach it to our children. This helps insure that freedom lives for another generation. Sadly, civics is no longer taught at school or at home.
I don’t always grasp why people hold certain views, but I never hate them for it. I may reject their actions, but never the person. My respect and treatment of them doesn’t come from my love of country. It comes from my love of God.
In 1754 Benjamin Franklin published an iconic political cartoon. A snake divided into parts, (groups). It presented an ominous message. “Join or Die”
It was a warning: Americans must bridge divides—racial, political, or cultural—to resist control and preserve liberty. We would be wise to apply this logic today or America, and Americans, will suffer at the hands of tyrants once again.
We need to unite as Americans or we will suffer under an oppressive rule. Our children and our children’s children will inherit a struggle to reclaim the freedom we once enjoyed yet allowed to slip through our fingers. Traded away for a perception of security.
Why do the people feel they need security? Because fear, weaponized by elites, manipulates us into submission.
Why do the people fear?
They are conditioned to do so.
Who causes that?
It starts in the media, then it is amplified by social media.
Where does the media get their orders?
The elite that run the government from shadowy boardrooms and penthouses.
Their narratives were carefully created and edited. Leaving the most effective story to tell. Not the most accurate or honest. The most effective. They leave a little truth in to set the hook in our mouths. Then they flood the rest of the story with propaganda in order to produce a desired response. Pushing society in the direction the elite wish it to go.
How did We the People respond? We said nothing. We did nothing but watch liberty erode and freedom decay. Our inaction will leave our heirs facing insurmountable odds. We, who could have stood tall against tyranny, hesitated. Our descendants will be forced to resist from their knees, a submissive stance we will have permitted.
All we had to do was water it with vigilance. Now the Tree of Liberty will demand the blood of patriots and tyrants. It won’t be our blood. It will be the blood of our descendants that run through our streets. We could have spared them, but we didn’t stop it when we could have. We were no patriots. We were cowards and summer soldiers. We were sunshine patriots who claimed to be willing. Yet, when the dark times descended, many of us disappeared from the battlefield. Clutching the excuses we used to justify our cowardice.
In our old age we will tell stories and give warnings about how society was guided into a group-think mentality of hate and division. Division that makes We the People weaker and the elite who wish to profit from our existence stronger.
The odds against our children and grandchildren will be overwhelming because of our weakness. We will be remembered as unwilling to stand up against out tyrannical government while we were still on our feet. Our descendants will struggle from a position of submission. Forced to resist on their knees. A position we will have allowed if we do not wake up.
The divisive LGBT issue which was previously being used as a tool to divide Americans with false narratives and half-truths has become less effective. The people have moved on.
So the puppet masters who chose the narratives and guide the culture moved on as well. They have abandoned the LGBT issue, (because it was simply a tool for election season that backfired in the democrats faces), and switched to the lowest hanging fruit of all. A tried-and-true method to create division, hate, and chaos. A more reliable weapon to wield against the people. Racism.
Racism works because it’s visible, making it easy to identify and prejudge others based on appearance. Before a word is spoken or a glance is shared a choice has been made. Conditioned biases have kicked in. Dividing us further. Something that only benefits the elite who thrive in it.
All of those weapons can be overcome if We the People can ignore our differences and focus on uniting around the Constitution. This is easier said than done. Most people are not familiar with the Constitution.
We must promote Constitutional literacy through education once again. Improve civic engagement and show people how the Constitution is still relevant today. How it touches all of our lives.
We will do just that in part two of this three-part series. Motivate, Educate, Activate – The People’s Constitution.
