I wonder what the kids would say,
If we asked them to explain.
How it feels to live today?
I can’t help but feel a sadness
You’ve descended us into madness.
A whole generation is completely lost,
Of your generations ticks and flaws.
A nation is damaged, some have been lost.
Friends of mine that couldn’t see,
That you were lying so you could be
Free to ignore concerns about me
It was only your stupidity,
That woke us up,
not you,
not luck.
You spent no time, to bring us up
You’d drop a dime, to brush us off
Give us a device to feed us lies
It was our binky and muffled our cries.
While you did you, and nothing more
We grew up alone, to fight a war,
The we never really asked for.
Had you done your part, for liberty,
We wouldn’t feel so desperately.
Not only did you abandon us,
Broke your promise and lost our trust
But you doomed us to these chains of tech,
You sacrificed us, with no regrets
With no sense of duty, only selfishness,
You tied this weight, around our neck
You lost our souls, chasing your goals
You left us here, with everything to fear
Prescriptions made them depend on drugs
The rest were trained just to be dumb
So now kids like me, have been forced to be.
The men and women that tough times make
You were the weak that would create.
Tough times that we must now face.
We are all alone, they left us here.
It’ll be okay, God is near
We must be strong, it will cost a lot.
Most of us will be scared, or caught
But we will outlast and begin to heal
We will win because we all feel
We are forced to deliver grace
And save our humanity from the human race.
